She pondered for a while, wondering what type of story to tell. “I don’t really have any exciting stories. Well, actually, there is that one story.” After walking around the school for a while, Julianna decided to go ahead and speak. She started nervously, the way you tell a story where you aren’t sure if you should be serious or laugh.

“When I was four, my dad took me, my brother, and my little sister to Honduras illegally. My dad had asked me if I wanted to go on an adventure, and of course I said yes, I was four. He just told me to grab some toys. He told my mom to go and have a relaxing day at the salon. And then my mom came back to an empty house where my dad had left a note. It said that I was sick, so she called all the hospitals and I wasn’t there. There was an FBI search and long story short, we got back to the U.S.”

After careful consideration, she agreed to post the story. “I don’t mind people talking about it, it’s just that… I don’t want to be remembered as the girl who got kidnapped by her own dad.”

“Some people go to Florida for a family vacation,” she laughed. “My dad is pretty weird.”
