As you checked your Snapchat last week, you may have noticed the new Snapchat AI feature. There are many questions to be answered about the new feature. Many people in this small town are worried about security.

What does the AI need to know and why has it been added? I asked the AI itself. “The goal was to create a fun and engaging way for users to interact with the app and to provide them with a personalized experience,” my AI said. Some students interpret it as a connection point. “I think it’s for someone that doesn’t have many people to talk to so they can talk about anything,” Camden O’Donnell ’26 said.

Many at PIHS believe that it’s much more than that. “It’s definetly pretty creepy, how it knows your location, and you think maybe its a real person,” Max Graves ’24 said.

“I’m not a fan,” Blake Davenport ’23 said. “It asked me where I work, so I told it Staples Farms, hoping maybe it will stop in at the potato house and buy something.”
