Coronavirus

  • Increase in US cases we have hit 8.19 million cases with 220,000 deaths. 
  • India is now expected to surpass the United States with their Coronavirus cases.

Presidential Race

  • President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden held town halls Thursday night. Looking at 2 separate sources, CNN reported, President Trump was, “an antagonistic participant” while former Vice President Biden, “spoke in measured tones.” Fox News reported President Trump, “debated with Guthrie.”
  • Former Vice President Biden is ahead in the polls with 52% support, while President Trump is behind with 42%.
  • There are now 14 days until the election.

Maine Senate Race

  • House Speaker Sara Gideon is ahead of Senator Susan Collins by 7% in the polls. A remaining 6.4% of voters remain undecided.

Supreme Court

  • A date has been set for Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation vote, October 22.
  • Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell claims he has the votes to confirm Justice Barrett.
  • Senator Susan Collins stands by her statement that she will not be voting.
