Following yet another positive case of the coronavirus from an individual affiliated with Presque Isle High School, the school ceased instruction and dismissed the student body today at 11:30 am.

This comes just one day after Pine Street Elementary was shut down for cleaning following a positive test connected to that institution.

The Health Services department is currently identifying and informing close contacts to the individual, those contacts will be instructed to quarantine for 10 days.

As information upon how long the school will remain closed becomes available, this story will be updated accordingly.

Updated information:

PIHS will return to in person classes tomorrow, Wednesday, January 12. 32 students and 3 staff members have been regarded as close contacts and will quarantine before returning to the building.
