Longtime History Teacher Zachary Powers Retiring to Pursue Musical Career
After 16 years as an educator at Presque Isle High School, beloved history teacher Zachary Powers, known to his students as “Mr. P”, will retire from the teaching profession to pursue a career as a professional harmonicist.
Powers contemplates his future in the world of Harmonica.

Every journey must come to an end, and for longtime PIHS history teacher Zachary Powers, his time in classroom is in its final hours.
“A man has to follow his dreams,” said Powers in a statement Thursday regarding the announcement that he would leave the profession of teaching following this school year to play the harmonica full time.
In a later statement, he said “April Fools.”
