Pep Rally Update

Members of the class of 2021 compete at the February 14 pep rally in 2020. That was the last pep rally the school held before COVID-19 forced a pause on the PIHS tradition.

Pep rallies have had a long history at PIHS. In the 2019-20 school year, the athletics department  gave the responsibility to the Varsity Club. There was a pep rally at the end of February 2020, but a couple weeks later, COVID-19 shut schools down and we haven’t had a pep rally since.

Normally this wouldn’t be an issue but we have no Varsity Club this year due to lack of an adviser. So the real question is, will there be any pep rallies this year?

Well, there will be a pep rally on October 25, but it will be treated as a re-introduction pep rally, rather than a fully competitive event. “This pep really will be our first since the fall of 2019, so other than our seniors no other students are familiar with the process,” assistant principal Joe Greaves said. “This first pep rally will simply be to introduce the teams and get our students up to speed with what a pep rally looks like.”
