Thanksgiving break

The electronic message board outside the PIHS main entrance reminds us we’re hours away from a relaxing few days off for the holiday.

With Thanksgiving mere hours away, people are excitedly awaiting for their Thanksgiving meal and the days off of school. “Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and it kicks off the holiday season,” Taylor Brewer ’26 said.

Make sure to grab your thanksgiving turkey soon, before they are all sold out. If you know someone who is less fortunate and doesn’t get to have a Thanksgiving dinner, consider donating to your local food bank, or soup kitchen. All foods are very much appreciated, so go find that can of vegetables or cranberry sauce in the back of your pantry and consider giving it to someone in need. Here is a list of places you can donate food to:

  1. Bread Of Life Soup Kitchen, 62 Collins St, Caribou, ME
  2. Micmac Food Pantry, 7 Northern Rd, Presque Isle, ME, (207) 764-1972
  3. M&M Ministries, 21 Parsons St, Presque Isle, ME, (207) 764-9315

Those are just a few of the many food banks and soup kitchens in the area. There are always opportunities to donate.
