Gan Curtis ’26 defends against against a Houlton Shires player. “Our one goal was to start out the game with lots of intensity and energy,” Curtis said.

On Tuesday, Jan. 9, the Presque Isle girls basketball teams faced the Houlton Shires. In the JV game the girls kept the heat going for the varsity game. The student section arrived in a Beach Day theme. “The student section adds a lot of energy to the gym and keeps everyone hype,” Buck said.

The JV team won 41-20 and the varsity team won 35-30.

Soaking in all the memories. Lexi Morningstar ’24 talks about what its like to be the only senior on the volleyball team. “I don’t really notice it much. I get along very well with the rest of the team and tend to forget I’m the only senior until something reminds me of our seniors last year and I realize that I’m the only senior for this year,” she said. This year’s season will last about two weeks.
Spiking into a new season
So many emotions. The Wildcat cheerleaders celebrate as they realize they made it to States. “I’m super excited to perform at States with the best teammates,” Abi Reed ’27 said. The competition will be held at the Augusta Civic Center on February 10.
A victory well deserved
Presque Isle cheer team hits the pyramid with a one man liberty on Saturday, Jan 20% during the Big East cheer competition. “Hitting the pyramid with a one man liberty felt amazing, because we had only learned it a couple nights before we performed it. So I was happy we hit it,” Courtney Dockham ’26 said.
Compete to win

New year adversity
The Wildcat hockey team faced off against the Messalonskee Eagles on Saturday, Dec. 9. The Wildcats lost, but will play Hampden Academy this Saturday, Dec. 16. “We mirrored that first loss from last year, but we can build upon it,” Charlie Peers ’25 said.
