On Wednesday, Jan. 3, the Presque Isle boys basketball teams faced off against their rivals, the Caribou Vikings. In second to last place, the Wildcats, with a record of 1-5, needed a boost to go on in the season. The JV team played first and ended with a loss the score was 76-56.
In the varsity game the boys couldn’t keep up the fight in the second half and lost with a final score of 58-25. Although the ’Cats lost, this game was a learning experience. “We’ve come a long way with how we communicate and how we get along on and off the court,” Kason Bua ’26 said.
There has always been a lot to being a Wildcat, “The pride in wearing a Wildcat jersey comes from being scrappy and having some grit to dive for that occasional loose ball,” Bua said.
Their next game will be against Washington Academy, Jan. 6, at 1:30.
