New phone policy underway at PIHS

At the start of the 23-24 school year, PIHS administration and staff brought attention to students’ phone use. As an effort to limit students’ screen time during school hours, PIHS has stated that students may only use their phone before 8:15 AM, between classes, during lunch and after 2:40 PM. If students are caught using their phones during school hours without permission, they will face consequences.

Though many students are unhappy with this new policy, some agree that it will be good for the students. “I believe it’s a good policy because students’ grades might get better,” Neve O’Donnell ’27 said.
