FFA in the fields. FFA members from Mars Hill and Presque Isle pose in a corn field in Indiana at the National FFA convention. This was the 96th national FFA convention and expo.

On Tuesday October 31, members of the Mars Hill, Caribou, and Presque Isle FFA chapters traveled to the national convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mars Hill brought 11 students, Caribou brought nine students and one student attended from PIHS.

More than 70,000 FFA members attended the convention. Some participated in CDE’s or LDE’s which build leadership and career development skills. Lane Carmichael ’26 earned a silver medal in the Creed Speaking LDE. As other members were just there for a good time and to witness the multitude of FFA jackets. “I can’t explain the feeling of looking at a packed stadium filled with students in blue jackets,” Hannah Shaw, a member of the Mars Hill FFA chapter said.

For anyone interested in attending such events or wants more information about the PIHS FFA chapter should visit Mrs. McCurry in the Ag science classrooms in CTE.
